There was once a horse that used
to roam freely in a grassy field. He was happy to have the place all to
himself. Then one day a stag came to graze in the field. The horse tried to
chase it away, but the stag use his antlers to push him away. Soon the stag had
pushed the horse right out of the field!
The horse went to ask the farmer
to help him chase the stag away. The farmer said, “Well, I will help you if you
promise to help me plough my cornfield.”
The horse was so angry with the
stag that he agreed. The farmer took a big stick and chased the stag away. The
horse happily thanked the farmer for helping him.
The farmer said, “Now it is your
turn to help me.”
The horse let the farmer put a
bridle on his head and fasten him to the plough. Then off they went to plough
the farmer’s cornfield.
But then the farmer didn’t let the
horse go again! Every day after that, the horse had to work for the farmer. He
was no longer free to roam in his field, even though the stag was no longer
there.
Moral value : We must be careful how we solve our problems, or we may
end up with somethingworse.
